My Human Side

I'm just a human after all - Rag'n'Boneman

We spend most of our awake time at work, but that's not all what defines us - some one has to have said that... I think

Military Me

As of January 5th 2025 I have spent 10 years in Lithuanian National Defense Volunteer forces, short info here. Many great memories have been created and many great memories are waiting to be created... well if my knees and my back are willing to participate. Here are some that I want to share with whom is reading this (hi mom!)

Passion For Shooting

Contrary to Hollywood military is not about shooting and doing cool guy stuff it is more about walking and a lot of walking I mean a loooooooot of walking (military terms in paratheses) : day walking (moving towards objective), night walking (covertly moving towards objective), fast walking (forced marching), slow walking (sneaky sneaking ), walking while carrying heavy stuff (this is just constant), walking while lost (Land Navigation), and worst kind of walking - walking while carrying a friend(casualty evacuation).
But other than walking I have spent most of my military career as a Sharp Shooter / Designated Marksman later on certifying as Sharp Shooting instructor and leaving Sharp Shooting instead of Fire Team Leader role while maintaining a teaching and instructor role in Sharp Shooting.

Covid -19, Immigrant crisis and start of the war

Tough time that was - Jokūbas Žadeikis while writing this

  • Couple of months were spent working for National Public Health Center Under Ministry of Health calling to people to collect their data after they got confirmed positive (nothing positive about that really) Covid-19 test.
  • Couple of months were spent securing national infrastructure.
  • One and a half years were spent protecting National Boarders in Švenčionys district and Dieveniškės district. Oh boy was that a juggle to manage work, life and national crisis (note to self: create a T-shirt design).

Recognitions (self-clout)

Clout that I have received in no particular order, but the first one is the one that I am most happy about:

  • Lithuanian National Defense Volunteer Forces Medal for Impeccable Service
  • Acknowledgment for helping contain COVID - 19 spread
  • 3rd place winner National Defense Volunteer Forces team shooting competition
  • Acknowledgment for impeccable service and initiative

Tinkerer Me

Well this might be that coming from little town quite far away from capital I have fell in love with tinkering and DIY from an early age that I have carried with me ever since. I have never shied away from trying and failing and then doing it myself in my life few learning opportunities were: my attempt to DYI myself a bow. And while in the process I managed to damage my little sisters bike... don't ask me how, but I did, afterwards I wanted to play Go and fashioned the board on my own and it actually turned out not too bad (photos are lost to time) unfortunately never managed to buy playing stones so it never came to fruition, online Go was quite good (not coded by me however). Here are some other notable projects that did end up some what working:

Clay Borderlands mask

Spent around 20 hours on this bad boy only to wear it to ONE Cognizant Christmas party that had a theme of heroes and villains (did not win best costume award and still salty). Never worked with clay and definitely never sculpted or did any kind of paint decoration. Well... I did have a summer job one year where I have worked as a house painter so that might have helped.

Sketch up  3D flat plans

This came to me from actual real life problem of my girlfriend trying to choose a flat. Me being most amazing boyfriend Big Bang could ever create from a star dust EVER! (this was written by my amazing girlfriend (editor note: this too)) I have decided that I will create a 3D plan of the flat for better space visualization. So yup that's what 3 cups of coffee and one Saturday led to:

This web-site

Well you are here aren't you ? As a disclaimer I must write this: I know its not perfect and I have listed bellow what is in need to be fixed. Also I have absolute sub zero experience in UI/UX, Front end development or copy writing. But if you are reading this it worked, you will find how to reach out to me in back in "normal" section.
This page is built in webflow - one of the CMSs' that I have research for TransferGo. They however did not adopt this, but I have, really good tool.
Things to do for this page:

  • Responsive design
  • Fluff and features
  • Go back to 2008 when blogging was cool
  • Probably left some spelling mistakes here and there
